20 years ago NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, Troy Aikman, cut his career short at UCLA to begin playing in the National Football League. In the 1989 NFL Draft, Aikman was the number one over all pick. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys.
When Aikman decided to play in the NFL he was only two courses shy of getting his degree in Sociology. The two remaining courses are a class on race and ethnicity and a class on aging. He had promised his mother he would return to school and finish the two courses remaining to get his degree.
He is doing just as he promised to his mother. Aikman is getting his bachelor's degree in Sociology and will attend the Graduating Ceremonies at UCLA in June.
