Imagine playing for the worst football team in the NFL, being fired from the team, then go on to playing in the Super Bowl in the same season. That is exactly what happened to Pittsburgh Steeler tight end Sean McHugh.
McHugh made it through training camp with the Detroit Lions in 2008. Just before the first team practice McHugh was called in to see team president Matt Millen. He was cut from the team. The team had to make room after signing someone else and decided to cut McHugh. The Detroit Lions finished the year without a single win. They were the worst team in NFL history.
McHugh told reporters that he thought his career was over after being cut from Detroit. Days after Sean was cut from the Lions he signed a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now he is going to play in the Super Bowl. I say this guy caught a big break!
