Hines Ward Jr. was born on March 8th 1976 in Seoul, South Korea. The Ward family moved to the United States a little after Hines turned one year old. They moved there because his father was stationed in Atlanta. He soon left the family for duty in Germany. Now just mother and son, they were left there not knowing any English language and no money. Kim, the mother, found some work working as a cleaner at a trailer park.
The father then returned to the states and took Hines and dropped him off at is grandmothers. With his mother devastated, she worked hard to build a life, hoping she would one day get her son back. She would visit him as much as possible and in 1983 could finally financially raise him.
Not knowing much about his mother, he rebelled against her. He was a very bad kid and did whatever he wanted. The mother being furious and not knowing what to do, she sent him to his father's for a summer. The dad was always punishing him for the way he had treated his mother. Now returning home he respected his mother.
Hines went to Forest Park High School. He was known as one of the best athletes graduating from there. Hines Begins college in Georgia in 1994. He made a big impression in college. He was all over the field making great plays all the time. His father started showing up at some if his games and would keep in touch with his status. He thought his dad was just wanting money but he wanted a relationship.
Now one of the greatest Steelers player ever he is making great plays every game! Always showing big smile as well. He is a great receiver for the team. He got MVP when the steelers won the Super Bowl. Now that's impressive!
