After 18 long record-setting seasons, it has been said that Brett Favre will be saying goodbye to his career as a quarterback in the NFL. Favre told New York Jets staff that he will be retiring on Wednesday. This will be his second attempt at retirement. Maybe this time he will get it right. Last year Brett announced retirement, then after a bad fued in Green Bay, he decided he wanted to stay in the NFL and signed with the New York Jets.
Brett Favre was unable to take the New York Jets to the playoffs. That was a dissapointment to the organization and its team players. Favre holds several NFL records. Here are a few:
career touchdown passes - 464
completions - 5,720
yards passing - 65,127
regular-season victories - 169
interceptions - 310
Favre has no regrets of retiring as a Jet. He said it was a pleasure to work with the organization. He also stated that it was a pleasure to play with his teammates, including to ones who critized him and thought he should have been benched in the end of the 2008 season. Good luck Brett.
